Eva Poyato
Eva Poyato likes to use her hands to create, and her workshop table is always full of papers, fabrics, metal sheets, wood, branches, wires, hooks, seeds, and countless small objects that suddenly take shape on paper, canvas, or sculpture.
In her compositions, cleanliness, order, and a certain minimalism still predominate. All elements (characters, clouds, trees, houses, boats, planes…) pose as if by pure chance against clean, conscientiously studied color backgrounds.
In her works, it doesn’t matter whether she paints or sculpts birds or trees, princes or princesses, cars or planes, clouds or fish; it’s indifferent. They are not an artistic creation, but an attitude, a way of facing and showing oneself to the world.
The simplicity of the images makes our smile emerge as if an invisible spring were triggered, setting it in motion, making one feel free of burdens, while we savor the clean and unbound flight that Eva’s images convey to us.
In her work, she shows us pieces that seem like fables and tell stories of an inner world where past anecdotes that have remained intrinsic in the mind come to the surface on a white paper or canvas to tell and always tell new stories, a playful world, containing its own language of symbols, birds, trees, cages, nests, lakes, fish, cars, dogs, things from our surroundings that aim to show the public how the world around us can be simplified into poetry…
Eva has been simmering ideas slowly for a long time, and now those ideas are displayed in “Life Around” to captivate us once again.
Eva Poyato’s work is full of small stories, works crafted with feeling, that want to say nothing or want to say a lot, everything that the viewer wants them to tell.
