Anna Norin
Anna Norin (1984) was born in Norrköping, where she trained in sculpture at Norrköpings Konstskola. She then spent several years in Hong Kong, painting in large format while working as a freelance illustrator, with collaborations and commissions for a number of major fashion brands both there and in Sweden. On returning to Sweden she joined H&M as a print designer.
It was not until she came to Skåne and Höganäs that she found her love for ceramics and rediscovered sculpture. Working in clay, her illustrations finally came to life: the figures and motifs she had drawn for years could step off the page and take physical form. From them she began building a dreamlike world of her own, one that draws as much on the contemporary as on the years she spent in Asia, where the visual culture left a lasting mark on her imagery.
Her first large-scale works, made in 2023, were exhibited in Paris, and the same year she was awarded a grant for her work in ceramics.
She lives and works in Höganäs.
